Birocratic (Brandon Rowan) is a music producer and artist from New Jersey, currently based in Brooklyn, NY. Birocratic’s 90’s-hip-hop-inspired blend of organic instrumentation and electronic production earned him the ears of millions of listeners throughout the mid-2010s through placements in video series by the likes of Buzzfeed, Disney, and more. Combining his electronic sample-first production with command of electric bass and synthesizer, Birocratic’s solo show has seen him take the stage in prestigious venues such as Red Rocks, Bowery Ballroom, and dozens more, opening for Big Gigantic, Yung Bae, Lettuce, Mac Ayres, and many more. His latest offering, an experimental instrumental album with fellow Brooklyn producer G Mills, dropped fall 2023 and has since amassed hundreds of thousands of streams across online retailers. These days, he can be seen every Monday on the streaming platform Twitch as he hosts a beat battle with Bread & Butter Beats, a community he runs with the support of Rotterdam-based label Chillhop Music.
