Bio —

Birocratic (Brandon Rowan) is a music producer and artist from New Jersey, based in Brooklyn, NY. An accomplished bassist, Birocratic’s signature blend of jazz, funk, and 90’s hip-hop-style sampling deftly combines organic instrumentation, and electronic production with a pop-like songwriting sensibility - earning him the ears of millions of listeners via placements in videos by the likes of Buzzfeed, Disney, and more since first releasing in 2012. This online success translated to a heavy touring schedule, showcasing his command of electric bass and synthesizer throughout the 2010s - the Birocratic’s live show has seen him take the stage in prestigious venues such as Red Rocks Amphitheater, Bowery Ballroom (to name a few), opening for Big Gigantic, Yung Bae, Lettuce, Mac Ayres, and many more.

His latest full album, a 10-song instrumental album with fellow Brooklyn producer G Mills, featuring custom samples created and subsequently chopped by the duo, dropped in fall 2023 and has since amassed millions of streams across DSPs. These days, he focuses on record production with fellow NYC-based artists out of his home studio and has been releasing a steady stream of beats both independently and via labels such as Chillhop Music, Bastard Jazz, and more.

Coming soon is Take it Outside - a 3-song live-recorded instrumental EP/video featuring a six-piece band performing on a Brooklyn rooftop, set for independent release this fall on YouTube / DSPs. Preview available here (please do not share!)
